Lawrence: 6 Months

Lawrence,

At six months, you:

• roll over whenever you want, tummy to back and back to tummy.
• sit up - a little wobbly, but you can do it! 
• eat all. the. time. You get quite a bit of formula and have eaten some baby food. You're kind of indifferent about the solids a lot of the time, unless you're really hungry.
• chew on everything! You also drool a lot. People often ask if you're teething, but there's no evidence of it so far. 
• weigh 19 lbs., 5 oz. and are about 26 1/2" long. 
• are very vocal. I'm told you talk most of the day at daycare, and you make yourself heard at home, too. It's so much fun to listen to you!
• throw toys, whether you're done with them or not. You also like to grab whatever you can reach. 
• love the ladies who take care of you at daycare. They love you, too!
• like straws and cups. You always reach for them when you're close. You do it at daycare, too. The ladies there get a kick out of it!
• like to feel the texture of things. When you do this, it looks like you're scratching with your fingertips. Some of your favorite things to feel are the slipcover on the couch and your soft and silky stuffed animals. 
• are starting to develop a sense of object permanence and will look for things when they move out of sight. 
• sleep without being swaddled. You don't sleep great, waking up 2-3 times a night, and sometimes stay awake for quite a while. 
• like to laugh.
• adore your brother. Maybe a little too much?! You laugh and laugh at him. He loves you, too, but sometimes his intensity scares you. You sometimes startle at loud noises (often those from your brother) and will get upset about that. 
• like to FaceTime with aunts, uncles, and grandparents. 

You are such a content kid. It's rare that you fuss or cry unless you're hungry. You still like to sit back and observe what's happening around you and are starting to study little things like your toys and zippers and your puppy and taggy blankets.
