Country Roads

Over Thanksgiving break we spent an extra day at the farm so we could have time with Sarah and Jamie. We went on a nice, long walk down the country roads.

The time in the stroller lasted about a mile. Lincoln started to get restless, so I made the mistake (?) of letting him out to walk.

How far did he walk (well, mostly he tried to run on the huge gravel)? Um... well... from a little ways before this spot to... you see the bottom of the hill? Yeah, just past there - and then back past this spot.

He was not happy about being carried or put back in the stroller.

But then we got to the neighbor's house, the neighbor with the horses!

They have a donkey, too! Lincoln's all about the "donk-dees" since we got out his nativity this year.

On the way back, we stopped for quite a while to play in the sand and gravel on the road.

And of course he had to chat about corn harvest with Grandma.

He "pushed" the stroller for just a bit, then had to get back in for the rest of the trip. He was not happy, but the shortcut through the fields wasn't quite something I wanted him to attempt. Thank goodness for a heavy-duty jogging stroller!

It was a beautiful day for a long walk, and I'm so glad Lincoln's aunts and grandma were along to patiently walk with, push, carry, and help him.
