things...
A few random things to keep you occupied...
I have a student who sometimes raises his hand to tell me that I'm: nice, a good teacher, or fun. It's usually right at a moment when I don't feel like I'm any of these things.
Things people want to buy on craigslist = dog house, ottomans, a recliner, a DVD/VCR player.
Things people apparently do not want to buy on craigslist = Arrested Development seasons 1-3, The Office seasons 1-5, never used crystal beverage glasses.
I am at the point in the semester where I have to bribe myself to do classwork. Last week it was... "finish the paper, and you get to put up Christmas decorations." This week it will be "finish the other paper, and you get to go shopping for craft supplies and Christmas gifts." After this semester I will be halfway done with my master's, semester-wise. But, I will have 21 of my 36 hours finished. All because of my practicums that have to be done during the school year. It's a little discouraging, especially when I think about how I could be done a lot sooner if I had chosen a master's in curriculum and instruction. I have to remind myself that this gives me options other than what I'm doing now (ones I'm excited about, no less); the other choice wouldn't, even though it would be faster and easier.
Sorry. I kind of went on about that.
Tomorrow is Brad's basketball scrimmage. Friday is the first game. I'm excited. I think he's nervous.
I have a new nativity this year, from Grandma Lu. It fits perfectly on top of my cookbook/picture book shelves. I love it! I'll post pictures when I get a chance to take some in daylight.
Jazzy has learned how to "throw" her tennis ball with her mouth. It's pretty funny (if you like my dog).
I tried using an online tutorial to make headbands with elastic. They were extra wide and looked weird. Fail. But now I have an idea of how to do it and can adapt to make it work. (I just wish I hadn't cut out three before trying one all the way through.) That will be one of my Christmas break projects...the list is getting pretty long.
I have a couple of friends who have started doing crafty things recently (darn that pinterest!), and we decided this morning in Sunday School that we're going to have a "craft day" together sometime after the holidays. I'm already super excited about it.
I hope you enjoyed my random Sunday evening thoughts. The next few weeks promise to be pretty busy, but hopefully not to busy for me to find time to blog.
