Pumpkin Pickin'

On the last Saturday of September we went to P & M Pumpkin Patch with Becca, Micah, and Timothy. Lincoln had a blast!

As soon as we got past the entrance, Micah spotted this pumpkin and declared "There's a really big one!" Before long, he and Lincoln were yelling "And there's a really big one! And there's a really big one! And there's a really big one!" over and over and over.

I think Lincoln could have spent all day in the corn box.

Before I got the camera out, Timothy was laughing about the corn on his head. Really.

We made several rounds in the pedal tractors.

Disc Golf

Brad recently started playing disc golf with a friend. He's spent a lot of time in the farm yard throwing the discs around, and Lincoln usually tries to join him. Sometimes Lincoln gets really into it and throws well, other times he spends most of his time putting frisbees in trees.

Art work

One of the things Lincoln loves most about his new daycare is that he makes something almost every single day. Here are a few of the projects he has brought home.

They have a different theme every week that they read, sing, and do crafts about. Some of the themes so far this year have been bears, family, fall, and apples.

Estelle's Quilt

Brad's best friend, Todd, and his wife Ryan had a baby girl at the beginning of September.

I knew I had to do something special, so this is what I came up with.

I pieced the top and had it quilted by Farm Chick Quilts. I love the daisy pattern she picked out!

After looking at Ryan's Pinterest boards, I knew that I had to use lots of pink. This fabric was the perfect start, and I filled in colors from there.

I wanted the back to be special, too. Brad and Todd share a true love of the Royals, so I searched online to find this fabric.

The scrappy binding is probably my favorite part (other than the Royals back. and the multi-colored fabric. and the simple but beautiful pattern. and...). I had less than 24 hours to sew together the binding and get it on. Thank goodness my mom decided to help!
